We are very happy to welcome you to the RPTU Campus in Kaiserslautern.

“We” are the General Students’ Committee (AStA) – students just like you, who also once started their studies here as first-years. The AStA represents the interests of all students on campus.

We hope to be able to welcome you in person in the coming days, either during your campus tour—which will hopefully also bring you by our office—or at the general first-semester welcome event on October 14 at 4:30 pm in the university sports hall.

For you, your studies mark the beginning of a new chapter in life, during which you will meet many new people and build friendships. Studying at university is quite different from school in many ways. To help you keep track of everything, the university offers many organizations, groups, and people who are happy to support you.

Your Student Council (Fachschaftsrat) represents the interests of all students in your department (the Fachschaft). It organizes a wide range of introductory and information events and supports you during your first steps on campus.

If you don't know which department you belong to, take a look at your student ID card. The number in the bottom right-hand corner indicates your department.
