The former Shaolin monk and master of kung fu Sing (Stephen Chow) struggles aimlessly through life. Until the day he meets the former soccer star Fung (Man Tat Ng), known as the "Golden Leg". He recognizes his talent and his "leg of steel" and teaches him the art of soccer. Sing soon gathers his former Shaolin brothers around him again and forms a team unlike any the world has ever seen: The Kung Footballers.
They dominate the scene with their superior fighting skills with the ball, meter-high jumps, fire shots and bullet-time effects.
At a tournament, they have to compete against the "Evil Team", which has acquired almost supernatural soccer skills thanks to a new doping agent from the USA, led by the corrupt opponent Hung (Yin Tse).
