The third part of the Fast and Furious series, is dedicated to the racing and tuning scene of Japan.
High school student Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) is sent to Tokyo to avoid a prison sentence for illegal car racing. However, even in Tokyo he quickly comes into contact with the local tuner scene, car racing, but also the Yakuza.
Sean, who is inexperienced in drifting, can't cope with Tokyo's narrow parking garages and heavy traffic during the races, whereupon he is taken under the wing of Han Lue (Sung Kang).
What follows is an exciting competition for the title of "Drift King".
